How Carvocate researches, writes, reviews, corrects, and separates public education from automated vehicle analysis.

Purpose and audience
Carvocate publishes practical education for ordinary used-car buyers and vehicle owners. Guides should help a reader complete a real task: define vehicle needs, research costs, compare listings, inspect a candidate, review written terms, understand evidence limits, or maintain a purchased vehicle. Content is not created merely to target a search phrase or add another URL.
The editorial voice is buyer-focused but not anti-seller. It distinguishes facts, seller claims, user entries, calculations, uncertainty, and personal limits. It does not use fake testimonials, invented case studies, fabricated statistics, unsupported reliability rankings, or credentials the site does not possess.
Research and source standards
Carvocate prefers primary and official sources when external facts require support. Those sources include NHTSA for VIN and safety information, EPA and FuelEconomy.gov for standardized efficiency information, FTC for dealership and Used Car Rule education, CFPB for auto-financing education, state agencies for jurisdiction-specific requirements, and manufacturer owner manuals and maintenance schedules for vehicle-specific procedures.
External sources support a guide; they do not replace original explanation. Carvocate summarizes limited relevant concepts and links readers to the source instead of reproducing articles or creating lightly rewritten copies. Dealer marketing pages are not treated as authoritative buyer-protection sources.
Facts, examples, and recommendations
Factual claims should be traceable to the named source, product behavior, or transparent calculation. Educational examples are labeled as examples and do not represent a real dealer, vehicle, sale, approval, repair, or market result. Practical guidance is framed as a process or question, not a guarantee that one choice is right for every buyer.
Financial content explains terms, worksheets, questions, and qualified information sources. It does not prescribe a lender, loan, down payment, income percentage, or personalized affordability result. Maintenance content defers intervals, specifications, warnings, and procedures to the exact manufacturer documentation and does not diagnose a component from a generic symptom.
Updates and corrections
Guide review dates change when substantive content or the underlying product logic changes, not merely to create an appearance of freshness. Data-source and methodology versions are maintained separately. When a factual, calculation, or labeling error is identified, the affected content and tests should be corrected together where practical.
Readers can use the feedback form to report a correction or content concern. A correction should identify the page and specific statement or behavior. Carvocate does not promise that every suggestion will result in a change, but material accuracy issues are reviewed against current source and product behavior.
Editorial content and automated analysis are different
Public guides explain how buyers can reason about a topic. A Vehicle Report calculates from the selected vehicle's stored inputs, source states, and current methodology. An article example is never inserted into a live report as if it were vehicle evidence. The app does not fill missing market values, repair costs, comparable counts, or safety results with editorial examples.
Calculation rules are documented on the Methodology page, while current integrations and limits appear on Sources. When automated logic changes, related public explanations are reviewed so the two do not contradict each other.
Advertising and commercial independence
Advertising does not influence market estimates, comparable filtering, confidence, Buyer Decision, repair adjustments, offer guidance, guide conclusions, or vehicle rankings. Carvocate does not accept paid influence over valuation. Advertising, if enabled after approval, must remain visually separate from navigation, forms, report actions, and editorial decisions.
Visible advertising is currently disabled. If advertising is enabled, it remains separate from editorial decisions and product analysis. The public AdSense ownership tag, authorized ads.txt file, consent framework, Privacy page, and Advertising Disclosure remain available without creating fake ad inventory.
